March 2023 | Update
Take a look through our stunning new site. This quaint little farmhouse has fallen into disrepair, so our clients have decided to knock it down and start again. This farmhouse is set in the most beautiful countryside, surrounded by fields and working farms, away from busy roads and town noise.
The new property will be in-keeping with its surroundings and the proposed landscaping plans will make for a beautiful family home.
As we are family run business, we like to make sure that we really do get the WHOLE family involved. Our little man likes to join in with the building, but only when there's a digger to sit on! It's so important to us and our ethos to make sure we provide a safe and open site so that we can show our little ones what we do to earn our pennies.
The demolition of the old farm house was a huge success, the house was taken apart and any recyclable materials were separated and taken away.
The engineers have set out the house dimensions and we have begin to dig ready for foundations to be poured. The land we are working on is extremely uneven, it takes an awful lot of skill and accuracy to make sure when the house has been built, that it remains level and complies with the planning conditions put in place.
After a wet few days the concrete has been poured and the brickwork has begun to take shape, in preparation for the concrete slab to be poured.
A lot of preparation goes into pouring a concrete slab on a newbuild. The ground is lined with a waterproof membrane on which the concrete sits and is protected from damp occurring. We use a laser level to ensure that the concrete is set level and tools are used to remove air pockets from the concrete before it sets.
For each site we are involved in, we have our trusted welfare unit that comes with us. We have this onsite to provide a dry and warm place for our team and sub-contractors to use during their breaks. The unit was brought to site and was impressively put in place, and effortlessly done.
The stonework has begun and its looking fantastic. The walls are padded with insulation that is building control approved. The stone detailing around the windows are a wonderful feature to the home.
Scaffolding has gone up and the first floor has been installed. It doesn't take long for a building site to transform and for a house to emerge.
We now have completed chimney pots and roof trusses in place, ready for waterproofing. The property has had extensive steel work added to the floor and roof structure to ensure its capability of withstanding the weight of 2 loft rooms in the roof space.
The felt and baton roofing process has started to take shape. The roof has alot of intricate parts to it, making it a complicated job to work on. However, we are sure it will look very impressive when its complete.
Sometimes things just don't quite go to plan....
We love moments like these, the bubbles just kept on coming.
The patterns you see here in the stone add incredible depth to the finished look of the house. The swirling of a blue/grey sections to the brick are unusual and compliment the pale sandy tones of the stone.
This new build property really is surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. The vast garden space that rolls onto the farmland is a great plus for this property's location.
We have roof tiles! The farm house is really taking shape now, windows have been measured and ordered and the team are making great progress on the completion of the roof.
An awful lot of extra planning and work has gone into this roof, the 'behind the scenes' involvement to make this a success is quite incredible.
The extent of the land surrounding the new build are vast. Our client has the most wonderful space for their family and pets to explore and enjoy the fresh air.
And all of a sudden this place is starting to look like a house! The stud walls have gone in and electrics and plumbing first fix is well under way! our temporary staircase are installed for safety measures- rather than using ladders to climb to each floor.
The skies we get to see on our sites are absolutely breathtaking. a view of sunrise and then the mid morning sky is second to none.
